Role Summary:
The Associate Financial Advisor role will work closely with Senior Financial Advisors to provide outstanding support to the firm’s clientele. The Associate Financial Advisor role will be responsible for developing financial plans, managing client relationships, reviewing portfolio performance, and coordinating the response to client service requests. While the development of new clients is encouraged and rewarded, the focus of the Associate Financial Advisor role will be building technical skills, as well as maintaining and servicing current clientele.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain client relationships in partnership with Senior Financial Advisors
- Attend client and prospect meetings with Senior Financial Advisors and conduct solo meetings with clients as appropriate
- Work with clients to ensure action items are implemented and documented
- Assist Senior Financial Advisors with data collection and input into financial planning software
- Work closely with client service team to respond to client service requests
- Coordinate trading in response to client cash needs and deposits
- Run scheduled model portfolio rebalances to ensure client portfolios are within tolerance
- Embrace investment strategy of the firm and provide investment education and recommendations
- Work together to transfer existing clients, freeing up the Senior Financial Advisors to continue to drive growth and direction of the firm
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-5 years of financial planning, investment, or tax experience
- Series 65 or alternate designation exempting need to pass Series 65 exam required, or obtained within 4 months of employment
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), CFA, CFP or JD preferred
- Strong academic and professional background
Skills and Key Competencies Required:
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail, poised, organized and keen sense of urgency
- Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience with CRM, financial planning, and portfolio management software highly preferred
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office Products
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand complex issues
- Team player
Employment Particulars:
- Position Type: Full Time
- Position Location: Farmington Hills, MI
- Compensation: $60,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
