One of the most fascinating classes I took in college was Political Psychology. It explored political behavior on both individual and societal levels. We looked at how factors like personality and socialization shape political ideologies, attitudes, and participation. A highlight was conducting our own research on the influence of mass media on public opinion and examining how politicians use psychological strategies for persuasion. What I enjoyed most were the group discussions—since the class included both undergrad and grad students from psychology and political science, the conversations were rich with diverse perspectives. I left the class with a deeper understanding of social psychology and a new lens through which to view political behavior.
