Get To Know Daniel

As Managing Partner of Blue Chip Partners, Dan is a holder of the right to use both the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and Chartered Market Technician® (CMT®) designations. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

Dan joined Blue Chip Partners in 2005 and became a shareholder in 2010. Dan specializes in addressing the unique needs of corporate executives. This includes demystifying complex compensation packages, maximizing executive benefit platforms, and integrating equity grants (i.e., stock options, restricted stock, performance shares) into a financial plan. In addition, Dan leverages technical analysis when structuring 10b5-1 trading plans for executives interested in reducing their concentration in company stock.

Dan graduated with a B.A. from the University of Michigan, where he was a four-year member of the varsity wrestling team. Dan is the former president of the CFA Society of Detroit, a member of the CFA Institute, and has served as an instructor for the Stalla CFA Exam review program.

Dan enjoys golfing, bowling, bird hunting, and working out. He has completed five full marathons. Dan is the proud father of Joey and Olivia and is blessed to be married to his lovely wife Veronica.

What is one of your indulgences/splurges?

Rice Krispie Treats. I can easily polish off an entire batch over the course of one day. My family knows this, and often gives me some variation (traditional, chocolate, peanut butter, etc.) as holiday/birthday gifts.

What TV game show would you want to go on?

The Price is Right. In fact, my wife and I attended a live show in LA while she was pregnant with our son. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to “Come on down,” but we were seated in the front row! Drew Carey did an excellent job… but, Bob Barker will always be my favorite host.

What is the biggest lesson you learned from a client?

Many of our clients are successful executives who are burning the candle on both ends. Ironically, our busiest clients always seem to be the individuals who respond the fastest to our requests – something I respect tremendously. In a world where life couldn’t be busier, these clients find ways to 1) communicate promptly and 2) get things done. I’ve made it a point to model our client service around these core concepts.
