What is the most impactful place you have visited and why?

The most impactful place I have visited is Japan. I had the opportunity to visit the country when I was young, and I was immediately struck by the methodical nature of everyone there. Things like riding an escalator or boarding a train were so efficient – even the way that food items were put together and displayed was incredibly precise, it was fascinating. Given this, combined with the rich history and unique architecture the country has on display, Japan opened my eyes to a very different cultural experience than I was previously accustomed to.

If you could live (or time travel) in/to any part of the world’s history, what would it be?

I have always said that I would love the opportunity to sit down with my grandparents when they were my age. Hanging out with them in a post-war United States would be an amazing experience.

What is the strangest thing that happened to you growing up?

I was sneezed on by an elephant when I was five years old.
